Tinubu to ministers: Serve Nigeria, not regions or states

e (Old Banquet Hall Abuja Tinubu said the country is currently battling “daunting” challenges adding that the ministers must implement “long overdue” reforms and restore the citizenry’s belief in government.

He said “We cannot run away from the reality that our nation is faced with daunting challenges. The task before all of us is to confront these challenges head-on and find lasting solutions that will move our country forward.

“As ministers your mandate is to serve Nigeria as a whole not just your states or regions. Your loyalty should be to the Nigerian people and their welfare. You must be guided by integrity dignity and the desire to deliver results in all your endeavors. The era of serving personal interests or being beholden to any group or faction is over. It is time to put Nigeria first.”

Tinubu emphasized the need for the ministers to work together as a team drawing from their diverse backgrounds and experiences to address the various issues facing the country.

He said “This cabinet represents a diverse range of expertise and experience. We have professionals in various fields including economics law finance agriculture healthcare education and more. It is crucial that you bring your unique skills and perspectives to the table and work together as a team.

“We must tap into the vast potentials of our nation and harness the talents of our people to drive sustainable development and improve the standard of living for all Nigerians. This requires collaboration synergy and a shared vision for a better and brighter future.”

The president also emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in governance urging the ministers to ensure that they are prudent in managing public resources and delivering on their mandates.

He said “We must be accountable to the Nigerian people and transparent in our actions. Every decision we make must be guided by the overall interest of the country and the well-being of its citizens. We cannot afford to waste public funds or engage in corrupt practices. The Nigerian people expect and deserve better.”

Tinubu concluded his address by expressing his confidence in the ability of the ministers to deliver on their responsibilities and overcome the challenges ahead.

He said “I have no doubt that each and every one of you is capable of making a significant difference in the lives of Nigerians. I believe in your ability to bring about positive change and transform our great nation. I urge you to seize this opportunity and make it count. Serve Nigeria with integrity dignity and a commitment to excellence.”

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by top government officials including the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha. It marked the official commencement of President Tinubu’s administration and the start of a new chapter for Nigeria.
