I took to kidnapping after armed robbers killed my father — Suspect

orcibly took him away. He said "They blindfolded me and took me to a secluded location. I was kept in a small room and was constantly threatened and beaten. They demanded a ransom from my family and warned them not to involve the police." Bello continued "I spent several days in captivity not knowing if I would ever see my family again. It was a terrifying experience that I wouldn't wish upon anyone." However luck was on Bello's side as the Amotekun operatives received a tip-off about the hideout of the kidnappers. They swiftly launched a rescue operation and managed to free Bello from his captors. During the parade of the suspects the Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State Chief Adetunji Adeleye stated that the security outfit has been relentless in its efforts to put an end to criminal activities in the state. Trump swoops into Iowa fair, defying customs and clashing with DeSantis

For presidential hopefuls in Iowa were thrilled by his appearance and made it clear that their loyalty to Trump was unwavering. Many wore Trump-themed shirts and hats and they eagerly lined up to take pictures with the former president and collect campaign memorabilia.

Meanwhile DeSantis who has been gaining momentum as a potential frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination was left to bask in Trump's shadow. Despite being the incumbent governor of a crucial swing state DeSantis found himself sidelined as Trump took center stage.

This has become a recurring theme in the early stages of the GOP primary race. Trump looms large over the field of contenders overshadowing their campaigns and defining the narrative. His influence is evident in the way Republican candidates align themselves with him and compete for his endorsement.

For DeSantis this presents a double-edged sword. On one hand aligning himself with Trump can boost his popularity among the Republican base which remains strongly supportive of the former president. On the other hand it limits DeSantis's ability to differentiate himself and establish his own identity as a candidate.

The dynamic between Trump and DeSantis has been particularly intriguing. While DeSantis is often seen as a potential heir to Trump's political legacy he has also clashed with the former president on certain issues. For example DeSantis has taken a more moderate approach on COVID-19 restrictions diverging from Trump's more combative stance.

This tension between DeSantis and Trump raises questions about the future of the Republican Party and the direction it will take in the post-Trump era. Will candidates like DeSantis be able to strike a balance between embracing Trump's base while also appealing to a wider electorate? Or will they be overshadowed by Trump's continued presence in the political arena?

Only time will tell but for now Trump remains the dominant force in the GOP and continues to shape the party's future. His appearance at the Iowa State Fair was a reminder of that as supporters flocked to see him and candidates jockeyed for his attention. And while DeSantis may have been momentarily eclipsed by Trump the race for the Republican nomination is far from over and there is still much to be determined.

Tinubu picked wrong fight imposing hardship on Nigerians – Pastor Tunde Bakare

The leader of the Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, has charged Bola Tinubu with making life difficult for Nigerians. He claimed that by making life difficult for Nigerians, Tinubu made a mistake. The preacher said Tinubu should let the poor breathe by killing corruption and not Nigerians while speaking to his members yesterday in Abuja. Bakare asserts that the president has chosen the wrong battle by placing hardship on Nigeria without going after the people or organizations that have robbed the country over the years. "Mr. President, if you are truly on the side of the poor; if you are serious about the welfare of the people; if you truly want the poor to breathe as you once said, then kill corruption and not Nigerians."

Tinubu committed to peaceful restoration of democracy in Niger Republic – Presidency

Instead of forcingfully ousting Abdourahamane Tchiani, Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, declared his commitment to a peaceful restoration of constitutional democracy in the Niger Republic. On July 26, Mr. Tchiani, the head of the presidential guards in Niger, dissolved the legally elected government, detained President Mohammed Bazoum, and dismissed it. Contrary to the war narrative put forth by some groups and opposition politicians, one of the President's media aides, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, claimed that those who advocate for the Nigerian government using the military to overthrow the junta are either spreading false information on purpose or are unaware of the ECOWAS process. Mr. Abdulaziz made the claim in an interview conducted in Hausa and broadcast by several stations in
